Pewaukee Public Library:
On Time, On Budget, & Neighbor Approved
Designed to be sensitive to the residential neighborhood surrounding it, the new library was delivered on time and on budget.
The Pewaukee Public Library faced a serious space shortage as it was squeezed into a 3,000 SF old church building in the historic Village of Pewaukee. Efficiencies in the design process brought the overall library size to 28,000 SF in a two-story facility built into a sloping site.
The new building has many unique features including a radiuses building front with copious windows for natural light, a wood truss roof with a state-of-the-art observatory.
An open atrium connects the first and second floors, and the staircase is lined with handmade clay tiles created by children in the community.
