COMMERCIAL : CORPORATE – JOHNSON CONTROLS BRENGEL TECHNOLOGY CENTER

Johnson Controls Brengel Technology Center
This seven story office addition for Johnson Controls allowed them to achieve two major goals. The main priority was to generate a flexible environment to facilitate teaming situations while providing ready-access to technology with the hopes of fostering innovation among employees. The second priority achieved a much needed showplace for its building environments controls.
The new building was the first to be certified Silver under the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program, and the first to be recertified Silver to Gold. Through these LEED initiatives, the entire headquarters complex energy and operational savings totals more than $4.2 million over a ten year period.
The building utilized a concrete joist and beam system on a pile foundation. Parts of the existing building were redone with metal panels.
