Froedtert Cancer Center and Parking Structure:
Structural Beauty Starts with a Strong Foundation

The new six level 466,000 SF Cancer Pavilion consolidates all cancer diagnostics and treatment in one building eliminating the need for patients to traverse the campus to receive care.

The base of the building consists of a 166,000 SF, post-tensioned concrete, subterranean 500 stall parking structure to serve the patients and staff of the facility. Entrance to the facility is through two story lobby that includes a green roof. The southern façade consist of a full wall of glass that captures the views of the adjacent nature conservancy giving the maximum natural daylight, providing a beautiful visual of this beautiful suburban hospital campus. The structural system makes extensive use of cantilevered framing which gives the building the appearance of floating above the parking structure. This cantilevered framing system also creates column free unobstructed views around the perimeter of the building. The structure utilized composite steel construction for the Cancer Center and a post-tension concrete system for the parking levels.
