Biography:
Ms. Piontkowski began her career in biomedical engineering, but she soon realized she had a greater interest in the structure of buildings than human bodies. She began as a project manager for a small structural engineering firm shortly after receiving her Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering in 2005. There she was introduced to a broad spectrum of building projects in steel, masonry and timber design. She joined Harwood Engineering as a Structural Engineer in 2010.
As a licensed professional engineer, Ms. Piontkowski has experience in designing healthcare, industrial, correctional, educational, religious, cultural, civic, commercial and high-end residential structures. She has extensive experience in preparing and coordinating contract documents and has a strong working knowledge of applicable building codes and design standards.
Mary prides herself on having a good relationship with the entire design/construction team on every project. She aims to collaboratively address design and construction issues in a timely and efficient manner.
